A minimal research stack for retail investors

You do not need twenty apps

A workable retail stack usually covers four jobs:

1. Price & charts — what moved and over what horizon
2. Fundamentals — profitability, cash, balance sheet cues
3. News & estimates — what changed in the story
4. Synthesis — turn fragments into a clear next question

Where AI fits

AI is the synthesis layer — fastest when it sits next to charts and data, not in a separate browser window with pasted screenshots.

Example stack

• Portfolio tracker (e.g. Parqet) for holdings
• Research workspace (Stonks Ask Terminal.) for Q&A + fundamentals + news
• Your notes for thesis and position sizing rules

Avoid

• Signal spam that skips understanding
• Outsourcing conviction to a chatbot
• Building a tool zoo you will not maintain
